Cards & Tree Decorations

Published December 28, 2014 by isisimaginings

Hello, thanks so much for all the kind comments on my recent posts, I appreciate each & every one.

I made today’s cards back at the beginning of December. Some needed to be mailed early & some I was just playing with ideas.

This one is copied from somewhere, but I can’t remember where. I used Brusho colours & I think the original was distress inks………..

Same as above, but with white embossing, which I masked off before adding the colour……….

The background on this card is a Hero Arts stamp – Beaded Curtain? – I inked it with distress inks. The large star was die cut from white card onto which I brayered Diamond Sparkle Medium……

More white embossing & Salty Ocean distress ink……….

2014-11-29 001 016

My First Stampotique Christmas

Published December 26, 2014 by isisimaginings

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas Day.

Long ago, in the mists of time, I fell in love with Stampotique stamps. I loved the imagery & the strange characters & I kept promising myself that I would buy some. But other things got in the way, the stamps are expensive – wood mounted & excellent quality – and time went on. But a few weeks ago, Art From The Heart had a brief sale & I could resist no longer. I bought just two stamps; Top Knot & Moth Fab.

And here’s the first card I made, using Moth Fab………

2014-12-20 001 003

The background is Brusho colours, Portfolio pink pastel & stencilling with Orange Blossom Archival ink. The stars are a freebie stamp from Craft Stamper magazine, in 2013, I think. I added clear Wink of Stella to them.

I coloured Moth Fab with Fibralo pens & used clear Wink of Stella on her dress, the tree is from Papermania & has been in my stash for years.

2014-12-20 001 004

I think that, to celebrate my first Stampotique project, I’m going to enter this card in the current Stampotique blog challenge, SDC176. The theme is ‘Anything Goes’, so why not?

Thanks for looking.

I took sheets of watercolour card & pots of Brusho colours & got to work……….

‘Snow Good, I’m A Bad Blogger

Published December 22, 2014 by isisimaginings

Yes, it’s been ages. I can’t seem to get back into the blogging habit, but I’m going to schedule a few posts of Christmas projects for the next week & see how it goes.

First up is the project that was made at the Lisa B Designs Christmas party classes almost three weeks ago. I only made mine yesterday……………..

2014-12-18 001 002

I’m so out of practice that I hardly got any crackle, despite three attempts. I used Ice Blue Fresco paint from PaperArtsy, with Snowflake Fresco on top………..

The poinsettia are from a stamp by Anna Marie Designs. I edged the letters with silver Treasure Gold.

That’s it. Thanks for looking.

Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas The Finale

Published January 3, 2014 by isisimaginings

Here it is, the second bonus tag in the Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas 2013 Challenge. You can see Linda’s beautiful tag HERE & I liked it so much I copied it, using my own stash & adding a few things. I didn’t think I had any jumbo tags, but a search uncovered a pack, much to my delight.

I stamped two snowflakes & heat embossed them with silver SP, then punched out two circles. To cover the hole in the tag I punched two white circles & die cut the snowflake. The second circle is underneath the flap, hiding the legs of the jewelled brad.

I used a piece of vellum, die cutting it with the TH Distressed Doily die. I applied Brushed Pewter distress stain to it & dried it with the heat tool, it became much firmer & buckled slightly, which I was pleased with. I put Grunge Paste through an Imagination Crafts stencil.

The inside, as in Linda’s description, with the addition of a die cut piece for the message.

And that is it.

The FJ challenge was sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique & you can find all the information HERE.

Many thanks to Linda for fourteen weeks of beautiful projects & incredible inspiration. I’m so pleased I took part & I’m already looking forward to the 2014 Christmas challenge.

Christmas Bits and Pieces

Published December 24, 2013 by isisimaginings

Well, we made it. It’s Christmas Eve & if it’s not done by now, it doesn’t matter. As usual, I ran out of time & most of the projects I wanted to make didn’t happen. And I’ve decided that’s not going to happen again. Anyway, here are a few things to show you.

Some chipboard baubles decorated with papers, die cuts, glitter & ribbons.

A very simple snow globe. Not a great photo, you can’t see the glitter I added to the snow.

Finally, an unfinished journal page, made with gold texture paste & Dylusions stamps. This was supposed to be quick & simple page, but I ended up messing around with it for ages – I would be embarrassed to tell you how many times I drew bows, attempting to get them right. In the end I decided they were acceptable & gave up on the rest of the page, just cut it in half & stuck it to the pages of my Frida journal. Maybe I’ll come back to it at some stage.

Xmas 13

Al that remains is for me to wish you all the happiest of Christmases & I’ll see you on the other side.

Christmas Card Selection, Part Two

Published December 23, 2013 by isisimaginings

Hello again, all the stamps on these cards are from old sets of Chocolate Baroque stamps. By now, I was getting VERY tired of Christmas crafting, so they got simpler & simpler as I went along.

Embossing. I think I stamped the trees image with Salty Ocean DI. I used blue pearlescent card for the reindeer & used this fab diamond mesh on the corners.

Memory Box die & the tree was stamped with Fern Green Archival ink.

Joy Craft die cut snowflake.

A tangled string, the tree stamped with Red Geranium Archival.

A strip of washi tape & the snowflakes stamped with Peacock Feathers & Orange Blossom Archival.

And that is it for my Christmas cards of 2013. As usual, I had great plans & as usual they fell by the wayside. Such is life. I’ve got one more Christmas post to share, so see you tomorrow – Christmas Eve!

Christmas Card Selection

Published December 22, 2013 by isisimaginings

You’re all probably completely bored by Christmas cards by now, I know I’d quite happily never look at another one again, (I exaggerate. But only slightly). So feel free to completely ignore this post & tomorrow’s, because it will also contain Christmas cards. A lot of Christmas cards. But not all of them, I’m being kind.

Dylusions through a Crafter’s Workshop stencil, distress inked baubles.

Splatters of PaperArtsy fresco paints, (Beach Hut, Spanish Mulberry, Pumpkin Soup) & distress inks. Slightly sorry I didn’t make all of my cards like these two, I really like them. Next year maybe……

An embossing powder called Vanilla Ice on the top panel, distress inks.

Memory Box snowflake cut from card inked with Victorian Velvet DI, white embossed bauble on kraft card.

002 - Copy

The negative of the snowflake.

Embossing folder inked with DI – Chipped /sapphire/Stormy Sky, can’t remember. Wendy Vecchi tree stencil outlined on pale blue pearlescent card & cut out. Memory Box die cut birds.

Wendy Vecchi tree stencil with Fern Green Archival ink. Artistic Stamper baubles with aged Mahogany DI.

If you’re still here, thanks for looking, see you tomorrow.

Gift Tags for Darcy

Published November 16, 2013 by isisimaginings

Hello, I hope everyone’s having a great weekend so far. There are lots of photos in tonight’s post, feel free to ignore the waffle in between.

On her excellent blog this week Darcy challenged us to make Christmas gift tags, using mostly one stamp, preferably from PaperArtsy. I don’t have any of their Christmas stamps, so I chose the large heart from Darcy’s first PA stamp set & got to work.

Up first, gold embossing & painting with London Bus fresco paint.

Next, stamping the swirl from the top of the heart with Red Geranium Archival ink.

Covering a kraft scalloped circle with Vintage Photo distress stickles, Antique Linen distress ink,  Poppy Promarker & adhesive pearls on the heart.

London Bus fresco, Crackle Glaze & Snowflake fresco.

Heart stamped with Red Geranium & embossed with clear EP.

Kraft card. Heart painted with Snowflake, snowflake die cut from card painted with London Bus.

Number five. I used a craft knife to cut out the heart, initially stamped with Potting shed Archival. Broken China distress stickles & Glossy Accents to embellish, layered on to patterned paper.

And finally. Scalloped circle painted with Spanish Mulberry, Pumpkin Soup & Tinned Peas. Snowflake fresco applied through Dylusions stencil & splatters made with watered down Little Black Dress fresco. Heart stamped on to card painted with Spanish Mulberry.

All six gift tags. The banners are from a Tim Holtz die, the greeting was a freebie stamp.

Thanks to Darcy for getting my brain working – not easy at the best of times.

Tomorrow I am attending Neil Walker’s Pandora’s Box class at The Craft Barn, so I might be back tomorrow night to tell you about it. Have a great Sunday.
