Passion for Promarkers Challenge – Pastels

Published March 3, 2012 by isisimaginings

Good Saturday afternoon blog visitors, it’s a bit chilly here.  I’ve spent the last few hours making a card for another challenge, but today I’m showing you the Easter card I made for the challenge over at the Passion for Promarkers blog.  You can find all the information HERE.  I need to use my Promarkers much more, so the challenges will get me motivated.  This week the challenge is to use pastel colours only, so I decided an Easter card would be perfect.  My inspiration was two films; ‘Easter Parade’ & ‘Printemps a Paris’ – Springtime in Paris.

  • 8×8 white, scalloped-edge card
  • Promarkers – Pastel Yellow, Pastel Green, Pastel Beige
  • Memento ink – London Fog
  • Kanban clear stamps – Jasper collection & bird & butterfly
  • Kaisercraft ‘Bonjour’ 6×6 paper
  • Elusive Images patterned backing papers
  • Sakura Gelly Roll pen – Clear Star
  • Fabric flowers, large pearl brad & ribbon from my stash.

Following my experiment on the D tag for Chocolate Baroque, I tried not to put too much on this card.  I wanted the dress form to be the main focus.  I didn’t want any black on the image & using ‘London Fog’ by Memento worked very well, the Promarkers coloured over it really well.  I spent an age colouring the image & even though my colouring technique is not yet perfect, I think it looks pretty good.

I think the ‘easter greetings’ stamp is from Personal Impression – I’ve lost the wrapper.  I added a few touches of glitter here & there on the Eiffel Tower & on the edging of the frame.

That’s all for now, thank you for looking, let me know what you think of this.  I should be back tomorrow with something for the Artistic Stamper challenge.

Birthday Bird Cage

Published January 19, 2012 by isisimaginings
I did not realise my last post was a week ago, time certainly flies when you’re busy. Today, I am showing another birthday card that went to a member of the Grand Cinema team in WA, USA. It was inspired by an article in a crafting magazine. I can’t remember which one & honestly, I don’t have the patience to look through the stack of magazines to find it, so if you know, perhaps you’d remind me.

The ingredients:

  • Shaped, 6×6 square card from Craftwork Cards
  • Kaisercraft patterned papers
  • TH Alterations bird & cage dies
  • Distress inks – Antique Linen, Stormy Sky, Vintage Photo
  • Sizzix Broadway Melody alphabet dies
  • Spellbinders Nestabilities circle die
  • Crown – Kanban stamp
  • Everything else – my stash

After layering up the papers on the front of the card I cut a hole in them, so that the greeting on the inside would be seen. Alittle bit of distressing here & there, added some embellishments & we’re done.

Thanks for looking, until next time,

Love & light.
