Tag & ATC Swap

Published February 4, 2015 by isisimaginings

In an attempt to wake up my crafting mojo after Christmas I agreed to take part in a swap with a few crafting friends. The theme was ‘faces’ & somehow, I managed to get these made…………..

There are no before photos, because when I uploaded them, every one was blurred. For the tags I used Gelatos, followed by stencilling & stamping. The face is from a Dylusions set called ‘Strength’ & I found the quotes on Pinterest.

The background on the ATCs is Brusho colours first, then stencils & stamps. Most of which got covered by gesso in the end.

And yes, I did draw the faces. The second one turned out quite childlike I think.

Thanks for visiting, see you next time.

A Bloomin Marvellous Birthday

Published January 28, 2015 by isisimaginings

Evening, here’s another birthday card. Before Christmas I took a Saturday off from crafting & went, with my friend Lisa, to one of Eileen Godwin’s workshops in All Hallows, Kent. Eileen is huge fun, her workshops are very relaxed; she shows the projects, demoes the techniques & then you can follow them, or do your own thing. If Eileen is new to you, check out her blog; Eileen’s Crafty Zone, she makes gorgeous cards.

True to form, I ended up with just one finished card, but it’s a big one – 8×8……..

The background is Brusho colours, the stamps are all Designs by Ryn – I NEED these!! – & the stencil is Wendy Vecchi’s Lovely Large Flower. I used Black Soot for the flower & it wasn’t dark enough, so I added the white dots, replaced the stencil & applied embossing ink through it, then heat set with clear embossing powder. The greeting is from PaperArtsy JOFY Collection 11.

Thanks for looking, see you next time.

Brusho Box

Published January 25, 2015 by isisimaginings

Last Sunday I went to Karen Clare’s Brusho Box workshop in Swanley, Kent. Karen is on the Lisa B Designs DT with me & she is one of the loveliest people you could hope to meet, she’s also super talented. She runs monthly workshops, so if you’re interested, follow her blog or find her on Facebook.

The MDF box was from Candy Box Crafts.

I started the background at the workshop, but most of it was done this weekend, as last week I had no idea what I was going to do.

All the colouring & stencilling was done with Brusho colours. Initially I wasn’t going to add any texture, but I’ve been using gold embossing paste through stencils on other projects & liked it, so on it went.

I had to include Stampotique’s Moth Fab of course & I added used Tim Holtz bird & quote stamps. I used TH fasteners for the drawer handles.

On the sides are mushrooms from Dylusions Shrooms stamp set & Crafty Individuals Crowned Bunnies.

2015-01-21 001 005

The stencils I used were PaperArtsy, Donna Downey & TCW.

I’m really happy with this, my Brusho pots are inside & it’s sitting on my craft table.

Thanks so much to Karen for a lovely day.

Cards & Tree Decorations

Published December 28, 2014 by isisimaginings

Hello, thanks so much for all the kind comments on my recent posts, I appreciate each & every one.

I made today’s cards back at the beginning of December. Some needed to be mailed early & some I was just playing with ideas.

This one is copied from somewhere, but I can’t remember where. I used Brusho colours & I think the original was distress inks………..

2014-12-01 001 004

Same as above, but with white embossing, which I masked off before adding the colour……….

2014-12-01 001 003

The background on this card is a Hero Arts stamp – Beaded Curtain? – I inked it with distress inks. The large star was die cut from white card onto which I brayered Diamond Sparkle Medium……

2014-12-01 001 005

More white embossing & Salty Ocean distress ink……….

2014-11-29 001 016

White sparkle embossing & Brusho………..

2014-11-29 001 017

To finish, two MDF Christmas tree decorations………

2014-12-20 001 010

PaperArtsy Crackle Glaze (am rubbish at using Crackle Glaze at the moment) & Fresco paints, Sparkle Medium, Glossy Accents.

My First Stampotique Christmas

Published December 26, 2014 by isisimaginings

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas Day.

Long ago, in the mists of time, I fell in love with Stampotique stamps. I loved the imagery & the strange characters & I kept promising myself that I would buy some. But other things got in the way, the stamps are expensive – wood mounted & excellent quality – and time went on. But a few weeks ago, Art From The Heart had a brief sale & I could resist no longer. I bought just two stamps; Top Knot & Moth Fab.

And here’s the first card I made, using Moth Fab………

2014-12-20 001 003

The background is Brusho colours, Portfolio pink pastel & stencilling with Orange Blossom Archival ink. The stars are a freebie stamp from Craft Stamper magazine, in 2013, I think. I added clear Wink of Stella to them.

I coloured Moth Fab with Fibralo pens & used clear Wink of Stella on her dress, the tree is from Papermania & has been in my stash for years.

2014-12-20 001 004

I think that, to celebrate my first Stampotique project, I’m going to enter this card in the current Stampotique blog challenge, SDC176. The theme is ‘Anything Goes’, so why not?

Thanks for looking.
