Me again. I made this last month for a Stampotique challenge & then forgot to blog it………….
I used an MDF three piece frame from Imagination Crafts, covering the top piece with a square of patterned paper.
I used a baby wipe to blend PaperArtsy Fresco paints, I can’t remember which ones exactly………..
Added stencilling (TCW & Andy Skinner)…………
Gold embossing paste through a Dina Wakley stencil for TCW. Moth Fab was painted with Frescos…….
I added some stamping with black Archival ink & used a Luminarte shimmer spray in blue, it gives a very subtle shimmer……
The heart is MDF, also from Imagination Crafts. I painted it with white gesso & Eggplant Fresco, then Snowflake Fresco through a stencil. I covered it with Glossy Accents to finish….
I debated with myself about adding a sentiment or a quote, but decided not to, I think it’s okay as it is.
I would like to enter this into the challenge on the new Mixed Media World blog. Thanks for looking.
Last Sunday I went to Karen Clare’s Brusho Box workshop in Swanley, Kent. Karen is on the Lisa B Designs DT with me & she is one of the loveliest people you could hope to meet, she’s also super talented. She runs monthly workshops, so if you’re interested, follow her blog or find her on Facebook.
The MDF box was from Candy Box Crafts.
I started the background at the workshop, but most of it was done this weekend, as last week I had no idea what I was going to do.
All the colouring & stencilling was done with Brusho colours. Initially I wasn’t going to add any texture, but I’ve been using gold embossing paste through stencils on other projects & liked it, so on it went.
I had to include Stampotique’s Moth Fab of course & I added used Tim Holtz bird & quote stamps. I used TH fasteners for the drawer handles.
On the sides are mushrooms from Dylusions Shrooms stamp set & Crafty Individuals Crowned Bunnies.
The stencils I used were PaperArtsy, Donna Downey & TCW.
I’m really happy with this, my Brusho pots are inside & it’s sitting on my craft table.
Thanks so much to Karen for a lovely day.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas Day.
Long ago, in the mists of time, I fell in love with Stampotique stamps. I loved the imagery & the strange characters & I kept promising myself that I would buy some. But other things got in the way, the stamps are expensive – wood mounted & excellent quality – and time went on. But a few weeks ago, Art From The Heart had a brief sale & I could resist no longer. I bought just two stamps; Top Knot & Moth Fab.
And here’s the first card I made, using Moth Fab………
The background is Brusho colours, Portfolio pink pastel & stencilling with Orange Blossom Archival ink. The stars are a freebie stamp from Craft Stamper magazine, in 2013, I think. I added clear Wink of Stella to them.
I coloured Moth Fab with Fibralo pens & used clear Wink of Stella on her dress, the tree is from Papermania & has been in my stash for years.
I think that, to celebrate my first Stampotique project, I’m going to enter this card in the current Stampotique blog challenge, SDC176. The theme is ‘Anything Goes’, so why not?
Thanks for looking.
